ABOUT US

Welcome to..New Heights Youth Outreach

New Heights Youth Outreach is an outdoor adventure therapy organisation based in Port Macquarie, NSW. We provide one-on-one mentoring and support, weekly adventure therapy group programs, adventure camps and expeditions for disadvantaged, at risk, and young people with disabilities between the ages of 10 – 17 and 18 – 30 years old.

We also have our Youth Outreach Centre, Youth Shelter, and Life Skills Workshop where we run lots of programs, group activities, social events etc with a hangout space with table tennis, air hockey, pool table, lounge area and cafe, plus lots lots more!

Our Regular Programs! 'EXPLORE group'

Our 'Explore' group program follows the 10 week school term and is based around a different outdoor activity each week.

Activities include Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Canoeing, Hiking, Raft Building, Geocaching and many many more other outdoor adventure activities and sports.

We use these outdoor adventure activities as a way of experientially teaching a different social or behavioural skill each week where the participants then debrief and reflect on learnings they can then apply to other areas of their life such as school, home or work.

1:1 Outreach

Our one-on-one Outreach is most effective when complimenting our 'Explore' group program! It gives the young person an opportunity to build skills, have fun and build confidence while working though emotional regulation skills and strategies with their outreach worker. It also gives a safe and supportive 1:1 environment to work through any social and behavioural challenges they experienced in our group programs, school, or at home.

As a snow boarder, mountain biker and outdoor instructor, getting outdoors for adventures is definitely one of my passions! Helping young people that have hit rock bottom, wether homeless, drug dependance, in trouble with the law, or any other crisis situation they find them self in is a very fulling role!
